About this deal

None of her “sin” reveals (that I got to, bc again DNF) were relatable. They all seemed pretty silly to me. The author tells us she’s not perfect but then doesn’t share any real problems. I’ve had too many mom friends visit motherhood hell. This author almost seems naive to the trauma many mothers find themselves living through.

Some of the stories are a little mediocre, but Gaiman’s wonderful writing style lifts them above the line, turning them into most enjoyable reads. I feel an inferior author would not have been able to accomplish this, and I find Gaiman to be, along with authors such as Stephen King, a natural teller of stories. For me he could almost write about anything and it would be enjoyable.Don't for a moment assume from the cute cover that this is a children's book. Possibly it may be marketed as YA, but I'd suggest this is more suited for slightly older reader. Professor Barry Carpenter, OBE, PhD, University of Worcester M is for Autism invites us into the world of a young woman with autism and allows us to view it through her lens. What an intriguing world we enter. This is a book to be read by everyone! October in the Chair": the twelve months of the year periodically gather in a circle to tell stories and each time one of them becomes the 'president' of the evening, which is responsible for making decisions and tell the final story. It’s the time of October that tells a disturbing whose protagonist is a child and leave us a thousand questions about his fate. This book is in peril of falling into a forgotten realm, a status that stems from misguided marketing. The title, M is for Magic, suggests a collection of stories for children, yet the book is categorized for young adults, and the content - from the crotch-sniffing troll whose " penis hung from the bush of gonk hair between his legs" to the months of the year sitting fireside to enjoy " a bottle of 1902 Château Lafitte" - caters to adults.

The picture with today’s post are some flowers for Mother. Today’s header shows Ellis Island. A place that lots of mothers and fathers passed through to make us what we are today. In 2015 Ken Puls and I (Miguel Escobar) published a book under the name ‘M is for Data Monkey’. We were (and still are!) very proud of the work that we were able to put out. We never expected our book to become the #1 book out there when it comes down to Power Query – we are very grateful, and we thank everyone who has supported us throughout the years. Be encouraged, friends, that there is so much good in being thankful (just as we’re exhorted by Scripture), even in the midst of trials, and that rejoicing in good mothering days, far from being inauthentic, can be a beacon of light for other moms doing their best to keep their heads above water in the stormy seas of mothering struggles shared in the name of “telling it straight.” I was impressed with Neil Gaiman for doing a great job narrating his own stories. He's one of the few authors that can get away with it. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy the material quite as much. While I've never been a fan of twisted nursery rhymes (translation: I hate them; if you can't come up with original material you shouldn't be writing) Gaiman did a reasonably good job of making the Humpty Dumpty parody palatable (but just). When I got to the completely pointless second story about a troll, I was more than a little disturbed that an author (any author) would feel the need to describe a magical creature's penis. I overlooked it, willing to give Neil the benefit of the doubt. Maybe all his great stories are at the end, I kept telling myself. Unfortunately the very next "young adult" story was about a thirteen year old boy that wanted to touch his best friend's breasts and "maybe even put [his] hand between her legs." Ferdinand Magellan (1480-1521) was a Portuguese explorer who led the first expedition that sailed around the Earth. The voyage lasted from 1519 until 1522. Magellan was killed towards the end of the voyage. The only fair and scientific way to assignm this book a rating is to assign each story a seperate review and then average the outcome. Mars is a reddish planet and the fourth planet from the sun. It is the planet that comes closest to the Earth.

Pics Quiz is the ultimate mobile picture trivia game. In the game, you'll be given a blank image and a bank of letters. From there, you can either try and answer level with your given letters or reveal one of the four squares to get a peak of the image. Once you get a good enough visual on your mystery image, you just input your answer. Of course, every time you reveal a square of your image you miss out on more points. Well done all. We need more books like this to promote understanding that we are all different in our own way and that is ok as it makes for an interesting world. How awful would it be if we were all the same? The writing is typical Grafton. I usually get into a reading groove with these books and just hang on for the ride. The flow worked though I wanted at times the story to go faster since it felt like Kinsey was just spinning her wheels. The setting of the book is mostly in Santa Teresa.

Grafton never wanted her novels to be turned into movies or TV shows. According to her family she would never allow a ghost writer to write in her name. Because of these things, and out of respect for Sue’s wishes, the family announced the alphabet now ends at “ Y” Since March, Ken and I have been battling to make sure that our businesses keep running. Online business are now more competitive than ever, so we were able to convince Matt to join our PowerQuery.Training which has now been rebranded to being Skillwave and we’re aiming for bigger things now – we’re still in that transition process and working on an even better platform, which has taking us more and more time. After returning home, I called my Mother to wish her a Happy Mother’s Day. I asked her how she had liked her card. At first she said that she liked it, but then she thought about it and couldn’t remember seeing it. She started to launch into a complaint that I never send my cards on time, which has been know to happen, when my Father reminder her that she had left yesterday’s mail in the car. The mail was fetched and the card was opened and suitably appreciated. Marine mammals live in the sea and breathe air. Seals, sea lions, whales, and others are marine mammals.

The Price: THIS DOES NOT COUNT: republished from Smoke and Mirrors: Short Fiction and Illusions. Still enjoyed the story - one brave cat defends his family from the Devil himself. This one was good, but not fleshed out. Should have been a full story. Mussaurus was a tiny, plant-eating dinosaur from South America. Its eggs were only about an inch long. Sue Grafton was a #1 New York Times bestselling author. She is best known for her “alphabet series” featuring private investigator Kinsey Millhone in the fictional city of Santa Teresa, California. Prior to success with this series, she wrote screenplays for television movies. Her earlier novels include Keziah Dane (1967) and The Lolly-Madonna War (1969), both out of print. In the book Kinsey and Me she gave us stories that revealed Kinsey's origins and Sue's past. The problem with assigning a star rating to this book is that, like any book of short stories, it is a mixed bag. Especially considering that this particular book of stories is by Neil Gaiman who can pen novles that are original enough that the only resemblance they bear to one another is the name on the front cover. This made it hard to review because I agree with each of these themes: Embracing motherhood, striving for excellence, not excusing poor behavior and choices. But the rest of the content left me feeling like I drank that RedBull, I get that burst of feel-good/self righteous energy and motivation, “yes! I will read my Bible, work harder, and be a more excellent mama, [no mediocrity for me thank you]” but I know, from past experience, this doesn’t sustain me for the marathon that is parenting in a connected, healthy, whole-hearted way. My experience is also that books like this were the wrong thing to be reading in the intense seasons of trauma parenting, as well as the intense toddler moments.

No matter your response, be encouraged that God is not surprised by your struggles in motherhood (or anything else), and there IS always hope in Christ and a purpose in the growing pains we all experience as moms--even if only to draw us closer to the one who never leaves us or forsakes us. COVID-19 has hit my country quite hard. At the time of writing this post, there’s been over 111K confirmed cases in my country. We only have 4M habitants. In contrast, Canada has around 150K cases with a total population of 38M. You can only begin to imagine how serious the measures have been where I’m at and how restrictive it has been to even go out of my house for a maximum of 4 hours a week for quite a few months. (yes, only a total 4 hours on a weekly basis to try and do all that you need to do) A meteor is a meteoroid that has entered the Earth's atmosphere, usually making a fiery trail as it falls.
