Two books in one, I enjoyed the walk around the South West Coastpath more than the rowing up the Thames river.

For those wanting both a stove and light that will operate off a small gas canister, Coleman once produced what was probably the lightest lantern option.

The humorous travel book we've been waiting for' DAILY MAIL) In BOOGIE UP THE RIVER, man and dog take to the water to trace the source of the Thames in a siff of the same vintage as Three Men in a Boat. Not only does Mark Wallington's writing just reflect the mentality of every dog owner he gives such a rich characterisation to Boogie the dog that makes him just as relateable. He's supposed to be accompnnied by Jennifer, his on-off girlfriend, but when she fails to turn up, he takes his dog, Boogie - well, more that he can't find anywhere to have him for the duration. I liked the part when Mark said by the end of it, all Boogie had was a headache and identity crisis! I would have liked a bit more about Boogie and his misadventures, but all in all, it was a good read. I have found it an amusing read thanks to mark’s way of telling his adventure from Cornwall up to the Thames . As soon as I read the open description about Minehead I had confidence that Mr Wallington was going to capture the spirit of South West England, and he didn't disappoint.

This amount includes seller specified domestic postage charges as well as applicable international postage, dispatch, and other fees. It is singularly unpleasant to be around (its owners break up and fight over who doesn't get to keep it), largely due to the fact that Boogie's one great talent in life is a hideous, nuclear-level flatulence and Wallington has to share a tent with it. Along comes Boogie, his mate's dog, who is used to London, is 100% Mongrol and prefers concrete to grass. Although no great heights are reached, there is constant downhill and uphill along steep clifftop paths which frequently descend down to sea level.I would recommend this book to anyone that needs to escape to abit of comedy and simplicity and i can promise it wont fail to put a smile on your face. A well written and humorous book about one man’s travels with an urban dog along the SW Coast Path, mostly living on Heinz soup and Kennomeat! Mark Wallingtons travels with boogie are books that are very good to go back to after a read that has taken a lot of concentration and investment. It’s more about mark than boogie , that’s the only disappointing part about this book, I would like to have got my idea of the character of the dog.

This wouldn't make much of a traveller's guide but, what he does do and say is easy-going, well phrased and gently amusing. Three Points of the Compass is not a particularly doggy type chap, nor is this book particularly well written. As 2023 comes to an end, Three Points of the Compass takes a glance at a handful of items of gear that accompanied me on trail. The path goes along Devon and Cornwall's rugged north coasts and their less rugged south coasts as well as Dorset’s chalk cliffs. Not exactly as Mark had planned, however: this time his companion was to be the delectable Jennifer - but she was held up at the office, and when Boogie was dropped off at the kennels the other dogs complained.

Really interesting to read about the villages and coastline on your 500 Mile walk, I would watch it if it was a film or even a series.
