The final scenario with its recursive dark alter egos really left me wanting more and I really hope this is not the last we see of this fictional dark genius. I got the audio book read by Garth himself, and I am glad I own it, as his pompous attitude reflects perfectly with the main character. This book is obviously heavily influenced by the TV show, but also Stephen King, and feels a bit X-Files in places too, with countless other thematic references, without relying on any knowledge of any of the above.

It’s just as good as the tv show and I frequently found myself laughing out loud, it’s everything a fan of Garth Marenghi could want and I’d highly recommend it. Reading this book turned my stomach upside down so I quickly read it again , which luckily left it the right way up, but a third or any odd amount of times would be a great discomfort. Garth has been keeping his proverbial cards close to his chest (also proverbial) ever since the cowards that be refused to broadcast his protean vision and delegated it to a brief run in Peru. Now to rewatch Dark Place and delve back into some of the pulp novels from whence this was conceived. Fans of Garth Marenghi's Darkplace will inevitably hear his unique voice while reading, but for a proper experience that follows naturally from the TV show format, you should listen to this one.

I watched Garth Marenghi's Darkplace when it first came out and always felt I'd discovered something secret and wonderful.

Bride of Bone' considers the limits of Man's knowledge - and whether living skeletons should make an army of Boners to conquer the world. Admittedly, some of the descriptive passages felt tedious at times, but they support the hooks and the comebacks to a lot of ongoing jokes, as well as keeping the main characters present in your mind’s eye.One marvels at Marenghi’s tangled sexual subconscious, which would confound the doughtiest shrink – assuming anyone could be found to take on the job. Stepping outside the car, careful to avoid a big puddle, Capello stared out into the rainswept darkness. Can he and Roz, his frequently incorrect female editor, hunt down these incarnate denizens of Nick's rampaging imaginata before they destroy Stalkford, outer Stalkford and possibly slightly further? Had she stumbled, unknowingly, into an as-yet-unwritten horror novel of Nick’s own subconscious making?
