Description

Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection ( Metal Gear Solid: HD Edition in Japan) is a HD re-release of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and (in the overseas console versions) Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PlayStation Vita. In the Tanker chapter you play as Solid Snake who is now a member of the UN recognised anti-Metal Gear group, Philanthropy who, with the backup of old Shadow Moses (see: MGS1) colleague and friend, has been sent to investigate and expose the development of a new Metal Gear project being developed by the U. Konami is truly trying to merge classic games with the modern age, and it succeeds for the most part.

Same thing for Snake's HALO jump in Metal Gear Solid 3 and Big Boss' character model in Peace Walker. It's a collection of some old classics, brushed up in HD and put on one disc (two on the Xbox 360), not much more nor less really. Metal Gear Online is out, though understandably, as online multiplayer is harder to port over and Metal Gear Solid 4 has the definitive version of Metal Gear Online included anyway. These affect the scenes where Snake tells Chico to treasure his memories and when Snake is trying to warn the Pentagon about false nuclear data. The collection was revealed alongside the Transfarring system, Zone of the Enders: HD Collection and the Fox Engine.

The Peace Walker package includes the game, a Play Arts figure of Snake in Battle Dress and an audio CD featuring vocal and unused music tracks. It's telling that MGS4's early chapter and the majority of Peace Walker try so hard to recreate Snake Eater's magic, yet neither have quite lived up to Big Boss' first starring role. They mention that the games look quite good, have a steady frame rate and that the visuals pop out better.

It often feels like Raiden and Rose are mere kids playing make believe, and one can't help but wonder how tongue-in-cheek it's meant to be. First time for these groundbreaking MGS titles to be in full High-Definition with revamped graphics, menu systems and much more.Metal Gear Solid HD Collection includes Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (both games were previously released on PS2), and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (which was released last year on PSP). Both Snake Eater and its direct sequel Peace Walker are prequels set a generation before the series began, while MGS2 takes place nearly 30 years after Peace Walker. It was released in the Americas on July 9, 2013, in Japan on July 11, 2013, in Europe on September 13, 2013, and in Australia on October 3, 2013.

The HD lighting in this game makes it a lot more beautiful than it originally was, and it makes a good change that it's ran at 60fps rather than the original 30fps which is noticeable playing the game - it's the best version of the game yet. Peacewalker, while less popular, is still hella fun, and an absolute must play to fans of the series as a tie in between mgs3 and 5 (4 is much later in the timeline), and a very fun more action-oriented title. Since the health of the player for the subsequent fight against Solidus Snake is carried over on the Extreme difficulties, said battle is significantly easier as a result. Bluepoint Games was responsible for MGS2 and MGS3 port, Genki was working on Peace Walker port, while Armature Studio ported these version to PlayStation Vita. It’s dark down there, and difficult to see, but if you manage to find a source of light (or just light your cigar to give off a faint glow), you get a really great reflective light effect from the wall.If you enjoyed this Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection review, you're encouraged to discuss it with the author and with other members of the site's community. Readapting to the button layout in MGS 2 and 3 took me a while; I understand the desire to keep these titles true to their original forms, but the option to use alternate control schemes would have helped them wear their age better.
