To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. And then there’s the ‘unexpected baggage’, things you thought you’d dealt with and suddenly find that you haven’t.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher / author for providing me with a free electronic copy of this book for review.

You could read it as a standalone book, as the beginning does a great recap of book one, yet there's loads more new content to laugh at and enjoy.

Lol, tears and frankly hallelujah to this book and the first for saying out loud what has been in my head for years! I can’t tell you how happy I was to catch up with Nell and Cricket they have such an endearing friendship and all the other familiar characters in this sequel, they truly feel like old friends! I absolutely loved the first book and ‘more confessions’ was just as good… what I like about the writing is the raw and real life approach, as someone in her 40s this book resonates with me, relationships take work, nothing is as perfect as people make it out to be on social media and this confronts that!

Alexandra Potter's writing is very readable, and it was enjoyable to catch up with Nell and her friends. I’ve done it myself: posted the photo of four smiling faces with a ‘what a lovely day with besties – and so lucky with the weather. It also annoys me that in society, if you're 25-40 and you're single/childless/unemployed (delete as applicable), you're deemed a failure. When everything goes tits up, do you fall apart or jump on a plane to LA with Cricket (an eighty-something widow and your BFF)? This book was beautifully written, hilariously funny (I was literally snorting out loud at certain points) and I just adored catching up with Nell and Cricket. arī daudz uzskatāmāki piemēri tam, cik ļoti visi mēdz kļūdīties un justies kā neveiksminieki tad, kad visi citi domā, ka tev ir viss ir ļoti labi. More Confessions of a Forty-Something F**k Up" by Alexandra Potter is an absolute gem that had me hooked from the very beginning. And who is desperately trying to figure it all out when everyone around them is making gluten-free brownies.
