Description

Although the idea did not win the competition, Roger Hargreaves liked the idea so much he wrote to Marc Penfold saying he would use the idea. From Mr Tickle's extraordinarily long arms to Little Miss Princess's sparkly crown, the Mr Men and Little Misses have been delighting children for generations with their charming and funny antics. Eventually the hotel manager managed to work out what Mr Topsy Turvy was talking about, and he was taken up in the lift to a bedroom.

Think I’m right in stating that as a boy I had all the pre-1990 Mr Men books with the possible exception of “Mr Snow”. Mr Silly was his favourite Mr Men story and, according to his family, encapsulates his humour most closely. Bacon · William · Queen of Miseryland · Miseryland Jester · King of the Goblins · Dark Knight · Stormy Knight · Starry Knight · Mr. I’m grateful to Roger Hargreaves for brightening up my childhood with both his Mr Men and the Timbuctoo series of books. I like this book because it was about a guy who always had stuff upside down, and he always reads back to front, and when he looks at pictures, he uses down instead of up.No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. At first I thought that this book was a subtle (or not so subtle) dig at those of us who do things differently and trying to force us into a certain mould. Although I’ve forgotten almost everything about this title and all the others I feel that owing to the amount of times I read each publication that they all deserve to be rated five stars. He went to a library and put all the books upside down on the shelves, and made everybody extremely cross.

The Mr Men and Little Miss have been delighting children for generations with their charming and funny antics. However, upon reaching the end of the book I suddenly discovered that this is not actually the case. Plus it provides the opportunity of a lovely word game which my children relished, trying to outdo each other with absurdities. You ought to see his house, the front door is upside down to start with, and the curtains hang upside down! Book is in very good, near new condition with very mild general age-related wear and tear, otherwise no other pre-loved markings.

In fact this idea can even be seen on the front cover, Mr TT is holding a walking cane the "wrong" way round, but is this really the wrong way round or has todays commercial 1984 world told us it is? When I was younger we were considered to be a little strange – topsy-turvey if you will – however I have grown up I have seen how these dorky little hobbies that I had when I was a kid have started to move into the mainstream. He wondered if he could make a living writing and illustrating children’s books so he wrote the first Mr Men titles: Mr Tickle, Mr Greedy, Mr Happy, Mr Nosey, Mr Sneeze and Mr Bump.

The trouble was, he did it in a topsy turby way, and got out the wrong side and fell on to the railway line. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. Also in the book Mr TT has a backwards clock which clearly demonstrates his defiance of todays time constraint obsessed culture which single handedly chokes todays McDonalds loving media crazed planet.
