A first rate orchestra (The Boston Pops), a distinguished conductor (Arthur Fiedler), and a superb pianist (Earl Wild) combine to make this landmark recording something to be treasured. It’s true, that this track brought the band glory and recognition to the stratosphere, but that’s not merely it. We were fortunate that this was recorded to analog in an age that had many digital recordings,” says Acoustic Sounds founder and CEO Chad Kassem, who describes August and Everything After as “one of the better albums in the entire ’90s,” with a timeless vibe and classic pop sound. In this release, his third album for Reference Recordings, Doug MacLeod continues to explore the breadth and depth of the human condition. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab has been the undisputed pioneer and leader in audiophile recordings since the company's inception in 1977.

Upon its release in 1993 the debut Counting Crows album, August and Everything After sounded remarkably fresh, a welcome change from the crunch and screech of grunge. The album was produced by T Bone Burnett and featured the founding members of the band: Steve Bowman, David Bryson, Adam Duritz, Charlie Gillingham, and Matt Malley. Mastered on Studer machines and needing to be heard to be believed, these recording showcase exactly why reel to reel is the best sounding music medium. The album was produced by T Bone Burnett and featured the founding members of the band: Steve Bowman (drums), David Bryson (guitar), Adam Duritz (vocals), Charlie Gillingham (keyboards) and Matt Malley (bass). This album showcases Cooper’s theatricality, storytelling prowess, and ability to create an immersive world of horror and fantasy.

August and Everything After is the debut studio album by American rock band Counting Crows, initally released September 14, 1993 on Geffen Records. Blending the vocal athleticism of Van Morrison with the moody rock of The Band, the Counting Crows turned on a whole legion of fans turned off by modern rock.

Throughout its history, Mobile Fidelity has remained true to this goal, pioneering state-of-the-art technologies and setting audiophile standards that remain in place today.

I compared this double 45 with the old gold CD from Mobile Fidelity, which was far superior sounding to the original CD and boy did it suck compared to this. It is a bit more laid back from the CD/Digital versions I own, and a tad less low-end and top-end sparkle, but overall a great-sounding pressing.
